Colonel Diana M. Brown is Director of Staff at Joint Force Headquarters, New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG).
She is the principal advisor to the Adjutant General of the State of New Jersey on all matters concerning the 108th Wing, the 177th Fighter Wing, subordinate units and civilian matters pertaining to the New Jersey Air National Guard. She is directly responsible for the New Jersey Air National Guards’ efficient and prompt delivery of support services to the two Wings. Col Brown is also the principal assistant to TAG, NJANG/CC, and joint staff regarding execution of ANG and AF policies and programs. She formulates and coordinates policy effecting 2,200+ Airmen and their families. She oversees development, execution and evaluation of programs relating to the daily command and control of the NJANG.
Colonel Brown’s military career began in 1989 at Basic Military Training, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and continued in the New Jersey Air National Guard where she attained the rank of Master Sergeant prior to receiving her commission. Colonel Brown graduated from the Academy of Military Science, McGhee Tyson ANGB, Tennessee in 1999. She is a graduate of the USAF Air War College. She holds a Master’s Degree in Military Operational Art and Science from the Air University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Stockton University.
Colonel Brown was assigned to Headquarters New Jersey Air National Guard as a Personnel Staff Officer and dual-hatted as the full time Personnel Staffing Specialist for the Human Resource Office, J1, Fort Dix New Jersey. In 2003, she was selected to serve as Commander, 177th Mission Support Flight. In addition, Colonel Brown served as the full time Director of Personnel. In 2009, she was selected to serve as Deputy Commander, 177th Mission Support Group, and in December 2015 she served as Commander, 177th Mission Support Group. In 2018 she was selected as the 177th Fighter Wing Vice Wing Commander. Prior to her current position, Colonel Brown was the Director, Human Resources Officer, J1 for the New Jersey National Guard.
