177th Fire Department Responds to Egg Harbor City Blaze

The 177th Fire Department was dispatched to respond to a junk yard fire in Egg Harbor City, N.J. on Aug. 1, 2021 as part of the Atlantic County Tanker Task Force. The fire involved junk cars, tires and petroleum products. Since that area is remote and has no fire hydrants, the 177th FES Tender 2421 was used to bring water from a fill site about a half mile away from the fire and bring it to the scene for the apparatus engaged in firefighting. Tender 2421 shuttled approximately 16,000 gallons of water to the fire scene. The fire burned for about 3 hours with a total 11 departments responding.
