The New Jersey Air National Guard's Leadership Center of Excellence was created to set the Guard standard as a center for developing leaders and solving organizational problems. It leverages the best capabilities among Joint Force Headquarters and the state's two air wings to strengthen the force through cross-organizational connections and learning.
The original concept for the Leadership Center of Excellence began as a set of ideas proposed by Col. Stephen Henske, 108th Maintenance Group commander, and was developed as a formal strategic initiative by Lt. Col. Bill Liess, with the Strategic Plans Directorate.
The Director of the Leadership Center of Excellence is Col. Lola Washington, and the Superintendent is Chief Master Sgt. John Asure.
